BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES:

Charlie is a native of Sneads, Florida. After graduating from Sneads High School in 1970, he received his college education at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York and Florida State University. He graduated from Florida State University College of Law with high honors in 1976 and practiced civil trial law for 31 years before becoming a circuit judge. He was a Florida Bar board certified civil trial lawyer for 25 years before his election to the bench in 2008. He retired from the bench in January 2021 after two terms.

As a trial lawyer, Charlie tried over 50 civil jury trials and many more non-jury trials. As a judge he presided over more than 100 jury trials.

Charlie was selected by the Tallahassee Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates as Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2005 and Trial Judge of the Year in 2016.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: 

Charlie has always been extremely active in the community. He is Past President of the Tallahassee Kiwanis Club, Past Chairman of the Leon County Schools Foundation, Past Chairman of the Second Circuit Civil Grievance Committee, Past President of the Tallahassee Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and Past President of Winthrop Park Little League. He has been a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church since 1986 and has served as an Elder and Deacon.

PERSONAL:

Charlie is married to Samantha Boge. Between Charlie and Samantha, they have six children and 13 grandchildren.
